Children's Learning with Music CDs
My CDs are fun and easy to use in the classroom. Both the song titles and the corresponding units are listed together on the CD, so you will be able to select which song best fits your theme. The lyrics are printed in the CD booklet and are also included on a printable text file. Use colored paper, your own fonts, and clipart. Laminate the charts to use over and over again.
Ideas for Using the Songs
Here are some ideas on how I used the songs in my own classroom. Perhaps they will spur your imagination to create your own applications:
Who Am I?
Choose five students to dress up in costumes and props to represent community helpers. When the helper they represent is described in the song, the class calls out that students name. Sing the song weekly or monthly, changing the group.
Numbers Chant
Make big, colorful, laminated cards with numbers for students to identify as each number is called out in the song. Your 'Star of the Week' can show the cards for the class to see.
The Five Senses
Have students create fun crafts to wear or display while singing the song. They can make silly eyes, noses, mouths, ears and hands to express their own senses

You and your students can explore your imaginations together. It's fun to be a kid, even if you're a big kid like me. I believe educators of young children are all just like Mrs. Flutterbee: fun, loving and silly. We may be a little scared of new things at times, but we are willing to learn something new to share with the prodigies of tomorrow!
